Statement of Purpose

The Church of the Divine Consciousness is philosophically aligned with the Interfaith Movement. It's mission is a service focused ministry committed to the integrity of the individual and the individual's own spiritual search.

We believe in the concept of a Single, Omnipotent, Compassionate and Universal Source of Spiritual Consciousness, not separate or remote.

We affirm a truth in all faiths and hold all paths as spiritual.

We believe that the most important purpose of religion is healing and value ritual as a way of opening to and touching the spiritual dimension of life and not as an entity for it's own sake.

It is our hope to provide a place for spiritual exploration, enrichment, renewal, compassion and enlightenment.

We welcome people of all faiths and those with no church affiliations.

Rev. Ellyn, a native New Yorker, was ordained by the clergy of The New Seminary in 1990 and began her ministry in the Pocono area in 1993. She is a founder and the custodian of an interfaith home church, incorporated as the Church of the Divine Consciousness. She is a member of the faculty of The New Seminary in New York City and the School of Sacred Ministries at the Pebble Hill Church in Doylestown, PA.

Reverend Ellyn hosts a prayer and discussion group every Sunday from 9:15 to 11:00 AM in the Brodheadsville, PA area. The current text is The Age of Miracles: Embracing the New Midlife by Marianne Williamson. Please join us in discovering our potential and divine purpose on this earth. All are welcome.

There is a way
of breathing
that's a shame
and suffocation.
And there's another
way of expiring,
a love-breath that lets
you open infinitely."
