"There is a way of breathing that's a shame and suffocation. And there's another way of expiring, a love-breath that lets you open infinitely."

From Love, Soul & Freedom, Dancing with Rumi on the Mystic Path, Denise Breton and Christopher Largent, published by Hazelden

This home church met Sundays for 15 years with many people understanding that the way they lived their lives, reflected their understanding of the God they believed in.  As members grew in their own introspection, they became more involved with activities outside of our meetings.  The notion of a Church "meeting" became less significant than the notion of a family, community and world ethic.  Although we no longer meet on Sundays, we are here to talk and are in a waiting period to see where the Spirit is leading us as a "next" way to minister.  Looking back, I have never been disappointed so it is with enthusiasm that I live each day in hopes of being both helpful and grateful.

Statement Of Purpose

The Church of the Divine Consciousness is philosophically aligned with the Interfaith Movement. It's mission is a service focused ministry committed to the integrity of the individual and the individual's own spiritual search.

We believe in the concept of a Single, Omnipotent, Compassionate and Universal Source of Spiritual Consciousness, not separate or remote.

We affirm a truth in all faiths and hold all paths as spiritual.

We believe that the most important purpose of religion is healing and value ritual as a way of opening to and touching the spiritual dimension of life and not as an entity for it's own sake.

It is our hope to provide a place for spiritual exploration, enrichment, renewal, compassion and enlightenment.

We welcome people of all faiths and those with no church affiliations.

Rev. Ellyn, a native New Yorker, was ordained by the clergy of The New Seminary in 1990 and began her ministry in the Pocono area in 1993.
